MYAC is excited to be hosting Windsor’s first-ever Apprentice competition for local high school students. Windsor Apprentice will be a day-long challengefilled event bringing together students from high schools across the city. Students will be placed in groups and will have the opportunity to work on three different tasks for which they will be judged. Through the process, no teams will be eliminated. Instead, teams will be given points throughout, and the team with the highest score, wins the Apprentice challenge.
Date: Tuesday November 18th, 2008
Location: City Hall (400 building)
Challenges: Teams will participate in three challenges throughout the day. After each challenge they will be evaluated by our panel of judges and awarded points based on their teamwork, their interpretation of the task and their developments. The tasks will require students to use various skills that are key in entrepreneurship. Here are some clues as to what the tasks may be about:
- Task 1: Randomesque
- Task 2: Google It
- Task 3: Lyrics
To participate in Windsor Apprentice, students will have to apply within their schools. Each school will choose one representative to attend and one alternate in case the first nominee cannot go. There are no grade limits! This representative should be a confident speaker, a creative individual and show an interest in enterprise. They do not have to currently be in a business class but an interest in business is recommended.
You can print the application form here or submit it online here, and we look forward to seeing each high school represented in this competition! Who knows, you may be on the winning team of Windsor Apprentice.
